This October we had a pleasure to host the group from our partner school from Poland – ZespolSzkolZawodowychim. S. Staszica in WysokieMazowieckie. Together with our students they have implemented a programme, which started on October 3, 2022 and last till October 14, 202

The project “EUROmobility – Staszic conquers Greece” was the result of cooperation between ZSZ in WysokieMazowieckie and The General High School of Leptokarya from Greece.

The main objective of the initiative was to increase the attractiveness of the educational process implemented at school by creating development opportunities for 20 students, including supporting participants in the development of key competences and soft skills by implementing 2-week foreign mobility in close cooperation with a partner school from Greece.
The specific objectives that fit into the implementation of the main objective were:
1) Preparation and implementation of substantive programs using the methodology of non-formal education for 20 participants;
2) Realization of transnational mobility for 20-person group from ZSZ;
3) Including at least 12 students (finally 18) with fewer opportunities in the project, which contributed to equalizing educational opportunities and reduced the risk of social exclusion;
4) Increasing the key, linguistic and social competences of 20 participants, and through them influencing the shaping of the European awareness of the school and local community;
5) Increasing the mobility of ZSZ and Greek students by promoting other countries belonging to the European Union;
6) Development of a new international partnership with an entity from the Central Greece;
7) Gaining new experience and developing the competence of the ZSZ staff based on cooperation with Greek secondary school teachers, including the exchange and adaptation of good practices and new models of work with young people;
8) Adapting the content of education to the needs of the changing labor market on the basis of intensified cooperation with foreign partners;
9) Development and implementation of certification tools allowing for the increase of recognition of the experience possessed by participants;
10) Development of the European dimension of the school based on making the educational offer more attractive, extending it with the possibility of a mobility exchange with another institution from EU;
11) Promotion of opportunities created by secondary education and programs supporting the development of young people, such as POWER.

The participants of the project, including short-term transnational mobility, were 20 students of ZSZ, studying in grades II-IV of technical school. Within this group 18 people with fewer opportunities were included in the project. The realization of the planned substantive programs under main actions – mobilities, assumed the implementation of 10-day classes at the partner school with Greek peers, working in an international environment – individually and in working teams, performing tasks based on the use of non-formal education methodology. In order for the project participants to achieve a number of the assumed learning outcomes, a holistic approach was used, focused on the development of knowledge, skills and attitudes that fit into a wide range of competences. Students, in addition to carrying out tasks under the supervision of teachers from both involved schools, supporting the entire process with the use of monitoring and mentoring methods, developed also their competences as part of organized forms of spending free time, including elements of the educational-cultural program, allowing them to develop cultural and social competences, including tolerance, open attitudes and overcoming existing barriers.

Implementation of the project, involving a relatively large group of students in the activities, being a response to their real needs, contributed to the development of the potential of the ZSZ, which is able to implement further initiatives aimed at contributing to the development of students, staff and the school itself, as an institution around which the local community is gathered. The project contributed also to the achievement of many goals of the school’s activities, meeting a number of needs and areas for improvement.
